Many useful tips. Easy read. Enjoyed the passed down secrets and reciepes. Great book. Pictures were wonderful. Great for new Gardner's.

I found this book to be very informative on easy, inexpensive and "green" ways to help my garden grow. I can't wait to see the results. It's also obviously, a very personal recollection of the author's experiences he had with his Grandma as a child, and I love the little anecdotes and stories that go along with it. My daughter (10 years old) says that this book will help anybody who wants to start gardening or just needs some juicy tips. She loves this book.
I have yet to read the whole book, but have tried his Effective Natural Pesticide.
It WAS effective against aphids on lettuce so far. Tried it a few days ago on flea beetles on the mustard greens. Will check if also effective tonight. We also had almost none of the white butterfly/green worm on the cabbage and cruciferous veggies that were sprayed preventatively. Also tried it on wooly aphid at base of apple tree shooters that nothing worked on. It was again effective.
